THE BLINDING POWER OF OUR PRIDE

Isaiah 1:2 “I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against Me; the ox knows its owner and the donkey its master’s crib; but Israel does not know, My people do not consider.” Alas, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a brood of evildoers, children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked to anger The Holy One of Israel, they have turned away backward…18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword”; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

God is always looking for an excuse to redeem and bless. Amazing to think how difficult we make God’s task. We fight and deny His goodness. We allow selfish motives to consume our waking moments. Many of us choose to hold on to a hurtful time in our lives. We decide to hold God accountable. We decide to put The Almighty on trial and convict Him of wrongdoing. It would do us well to realize that one third of the angelic population committed themselves to an eternity banished from Life and Holiness. Their decision should be observed by us human beings. Our choice can be to submit our prideful selves unto the might hand of the only God, or receive our well earned never ending position in the chorus of hopelessness forever.

Lord I pray we become reasonable and ask You for the unimaginable request of forgiveness. Then You will be free to redeem as You have always desired. Bless you Lord for You are good and Your mercies endure forever!
