REFLECTIONS

As we reflect in the Old Testament, the ancient writings have shown us that Moses bowed before the ark and met with God. The ark at that time rested in a tent. As time moved on, the ark was housed in a Temple built by King Solomon. That first Temple was used by the Lord to draw attention to Himself. Interestingly, when He was done with the first Temple, He leveled it! Later on we see the Lord rebuilding the Temple. Again, through the second Temple, the Lord would draw attention to Himself. Eventually in the New Testament, King Herod would greatly expand the Temple only to have it destroyed by the Roman Empire. Just a remnant of a wall is left in Jerusalem today. As we review these historical events we quickly see that when the Temples were destroyed, the people grieved. Jesus as quoted in the Gospel of John 2: 19 “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up” The Jews said, “It has taken forty-six yeas to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” But He was speaking of the temple of His body.

Today you and I as Born Again believers are the Temple of God. God the Holy Spirit lives within us, through the finished work of God the Son, Jesus Christ, God the Father is well pleased to commune with us personally. As you turn from your sin, ask the Father to forgive you through His Son Jesus the Savior, and accept this finished work of Jesus on the cross, unto His glory and our own life-long benefit, to Jesus Christ be the glory, Amen!
