OUR GOD SAVES

In Joshua chapter 6, the Lord tells us that the city Jericho had been given over to the nation Israel. The victory over Jericho had been secured by the Lord! Furthermore, Joshua tells us, Jericho was locked up tight. No one was allowed to come in or go out. Jericho knew the nation Israel was coming.

Previously, Joshua chapter 5 reported to us that the Canaanite king’s hearts melted after witnessing the Lord’s greatness. Under the mighty hand of God, Israel’s reputation was known throughout the land of Canaan. The pagan city of Jericho knew they were a defeated city. Interestingly even in the midst of their despair, God still had a desire to save. Case in point, Rahab and family submitted to the mighty hand of God and was saved! Hebrews 11 places Rahab as a woman of faith unto salvation.

God’s desire to save is evident throughout the Bible as clearly noted in the book of Jonah. God demands justice and He is righteous but through faith and belief in Jesus Christ we will be saved! Confess with your mouth and believe with your heart that Jesus rose from the dead and you will be saved, Romans 10:9-10 Ask Him into your heart and be saved today!
