Love My Neighbor?

Psalm 2   David writing from the midst of Israel,

Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? A vain thing, plotting something that is empty or that will come to not.  2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, 3 “Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us.”

Very little, if anything, has changed in the thinking minds of the human race. A brief review of Acts 4: 24-27 reveals as much. Like in the past, the angered leaders of the day would not be put under subjection of the “Bonds and Cords” of the men bringing the message. The offensive, horrific message that was rejected? Love the LORD God, and through that relationship you will be empowered to love your neighbor. Ironically people today say they want love to prevail. Sadly the majority don’t know how to allow it to happen. Emphasize allow it to happen not make it happen. The daily grind attempting to love are offered; trumpeting personal efforts. What a grind it is indeed. As the feeble attempts are painstakingly constructed, fatigue and disappointment take over. What a vain plot it always turns out to be.

4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The LORD shall hold them in derision. 5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: 6 “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”      Jesus proclaims  7  “I will declare the decree: the LORD has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You.

Begotten. Much has been made out of this idea. Thankfully, John the Beloved clears up any misunderstanding that may creep in:  John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.    14 The Word became flesh and dwelt with men…

All we need to know about God has revealed to us through Jesus Christ  Hebrews 1: 2…in these last days the Father has spoken to us by His Son, (Jesus Christ.)    Jesus proclaims in John 14: 6 I am the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

The first time Jesus came to this earth, He was identified by John the Baptist as, Jesus Christ the Lamb of God…      The Lamb of God.     God’s Sacrifice to redeem the human race from eternal death. Once again and stunningly these are the bonds and cords that leadership wants you and I to break free from.

God the Father concludes by speaking to Jesus, God the Son,  8 Ask of Me, and of those who mock You, I will give You those nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.'”

10 Now therefore be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. BUT  Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

So very simple but amazingly we make it so difficult. I am so grateful that the Lord God restored me back to sanity. He has received me into His perfection allowing me to love Him, and by that allowing me to love my neighbor. You should allow Him to do the same for yourself . What a great gift to your neighbor that would be.
